Goodbye 2011… Hello 2012

Happy New Year everyone!

Time seems to slip by so fast, especially at the end of the year. Between holiday events we’ve been busily working on some boring website things off the radar and hope to have some exciting new features, reviews, and big news about Hike It. Like It. to share with you soon.

We had to take a break to celebrate the new year of course, and what better way to celebrate than to go for a hike! A sure way to find people liking the hiking is to pick an accessible location with expansive views and easy hiking on the 1st of the year under the shining sun! We day hiked from Stinson Beach to the East Peak of Mt. Tamalpais (near San Francisco for our non-local readers). I don’t think I’ve ever said “Happy New Year!” so many times; it was great to see so many people out enjoying the day with smiles on their faces. There’s something special about starting off on the sand, ascending through redwoods, chaparral, and manzanita, and ending up on top of a mountain with a panoramic view of the Bay Area and Pacific Ocean.

The weather was beautiful, but the best gift was the sunset. There’s no better way to spend new years day than taking in a classic sunset with friends.

Here’s to 2012 and all the miles spent outside that it will bring!
