Work In Progress…

Every weekend lately has been spent doing one of three things…

  1. Hiking
  2. Running
  3. House Hunting
  4. Working on our Cars

Did I say three things? Between Sandra D’s Subaru and my Truck, maintaining them feels like a part time job lately – so make that 4 things. At least the hiking and running have been enjoyable, well, for the most part anyway. Last weekend I got beat down by a couple of nights of ~60 mph winds in the Sierras while snow camping. This weekend I’m headed to Joshua Tree for a run/hike of the California Riding and Hiking Trail (~38 miles), which is going to test both my endurance and my right knee, which has been giving me some patella related pain on longer runs lately.

I haven’t had much time for the blog recently; I can’t believe it’s March already! I have several articles in progress, and multiple things in various stages of completion. This disorganization just sux! On the plus side, gear has been flowing into the Jacob D household like crazy lately. New pieces of kit purchased, borrowed, and gifted. All kinds of good stuff, I just need to find some time to write about it!

I’ll update my field report on the Bosavi headlamp when I return from J Tree which will be my second outing with it. I’ve got some new down pieces to share as well. Battle of the Bars Round 2 is done… but I got wrapped up toying with a new chart widget to display the data so that may be a few days out yet. Oh, and did I mention I have a new lens kit for my NEX?? Stay tuned, the pipe is jam packed!! Hike It. Like It.
