Or as I call mine, the shiny soul stabber. Seriously though, these knives are beauties. Simple, tough as nails, inexpensive. $16. Made in Sweden.

  • YAMA Mountain Gear Stuff Sacks

Backpackers always need more stuff sacks, and nothing says “serious backpacking geek” like Cuben Fiber. Special deals for December! $9-$23. Made in USA.

  • Flat Cat Gear Epicurean Cookbook

Get your backcountry buddy to bake you some delicious meals in epic places! Maybe buy them an Epicurean Stove while you’re visiting Flat Cat too. $FREE. Made in USA

  • Lifestraw Personal Filter

Friends don’t let friends suck… water from dirty puddles and streams without proper filtration! $20. Made in Korea.

  • Sawyer Mini Filter

Maybe they don’t like to suck through a straw, in that case Sawyer has your back with the Mini. $20. Made in USA.

  • Injinji Toe Socks

Aww, they’re so cute. All your little piggies have their own snuggly compartment to reside in. They work great with sandals too, and don’t do the ninja-toe thing. Around $15. Imported.

  • Smartwool Liner Gloves

Nice lightweight gloves for light duty use. Operate your smartphone in the coffee shop without taking them off! $20. Imported.

  • 2XU Arms Compression Sleeves

So, you know your friend is trying hard to get into the ultrarunner / tri crowd, but something is missing… ah ha! Arm Sleeves! $20. Imported.

You a dirty girl, you a dirty gurl… oh, these are just some extra fancy and uber light gaiters to keep the dust and rocks out. Nothing to see here. $20. Made in USA.

  • Sabercut Pocket Chainsaw

Yes, a chainsaw for their pocket. Trail clearing? No problem. Bush crafting? Sure thing. Zombie Apocalypse? Bring it on. $12. Imported.

  • Pro Tick Remedy

Better out than in, I always say. Ticks are nasty – and when one crawls up your Junk (headband) and bites into you, reach for your tool instead of the matches! $5. Made in USA.

  • Salomon Soft Flask

A runner might use this to stay hydrated… if they’re a simple minded fool! Anyone can see this was made to store valuable ounces of single malt. $18. Imported.

  • Mirazyme Odor Eliminator

This is the gift that keeps on giving. Does your pal have running or hiking clothes just ladden with the heavy funk? Problem solved. $9. Made in USA.

  • Huf Plantlife Socks

Don’t Forget…

Last year’s ideas are here. Yet again we recycled a few things. You might have noticed many of the items above are Made in the USA; shopping local and/or USA made is a great way to support the “neighbors” in our community. Some of the smaller manufacturers may not have the item you’d like to purchase in stock so it might be a brilliant idea to inquire with them in advance to ensure delivery in time for the holidays. And don’t forget, it’s better to give than it is to receive. Happy Holidays! Hike It. Like It.
